I put this away for a week, and am getting back to it now.

I'm considering just leaving the colors flat and not shading anything, but I'll have to see how it looks after I finish coloring before I make the decision.

Also, I lost the text file where I wrote down the dialogue. What do you think they are saying?

Adventure, and More

I haven't posted in a while.

Right now I'm at school, soon to begin my illustration degree! I am really excited about this!!! The reason I got back into blogger was so that I'd have a place to put up assignment work for class (studies and stuff), so there should be a little more activity around here than before.

So far things are great, and the campus is absolutely gorgeous. For now, here is a photo of my new desk (it's kind of a mess already):


I also did more comics since I've last posted. Here are the first three pages of a collaborative comic project called "Fortuneatly" (pun intended) that I masterminded with some other artists. It's about a Talentless Bard and an Amateur Dragonkiller going on Adventures, and we have a blog (there are more pages there)


And then a wip of something I've been working on. I don't have much in the way of plans for this, I just wanted to make a good-looking comic page digitally.

Paintings and Bunnies

My friend had a graduation party, so I made her a card. With a sleeping bunny on it. She likes cute things, you see. Markers n' brushpen

This is an illustration I started and finished last night. I haven't done any pen/ink watercolors seriously in months, and little things not since a week or two ago, so I made this for practice. I used a DK Environment/Science book for reference on the forest plants. Moss and ferns everywhere!

Making involved environments (or environments at all) is a thing that I never put much effort into until maybe the last year or so. It's actually pretty fun, I enjoy it. Perspective can be kind of a challenge, but the shapes are mostly organic and this was shallow enough that I didn't need to worry about it too much. I need to get out and plein-air paint more so I can have better references.

The character is Daisy Snarlbear, a fantasy hero who has spent the last seven years of her life in the Rainbow Dimension, where she fought monsters, saved tiny rainbow citizens and annoyed the unicorn aristocracy.
